Description

Principle of measurement the D800 series of smart radar object level meters transmit and receive extremely short microwave pulses through the antenna system. The intelligent radar object level counter radar waves travel at the speed of light. The running time can be converted into a level signal by electronic components. A special time-extension method ensures a stable measurement over a very short period of time. Even if there is false echo under complicated working conditions, the new micro-processing technology and debugging software can also accurately analyze the echo of the output level.
The input
The antenna receives the reflected microwave pulse and transmits it to an electronic circuit, where the microprocessor processes the signal to recognize the echo generated by the micropulse on the surface of the material. The correct echo signal recognition is accomplished by intelligent software, and the accuracy can reach millimeter level. The distance D from the material surface is proportional to the time travel T of the pulse:
D = C * T / 2
Where C is the speed of light
Since the distance of the empty tank E is known, the object level L is:
L = E - D
The output

The installation guide

The recommended distance from the wall (1) to the outer wall of the mounting short tube: 1/6 of the diameter of the tank from the tank wall, and the distance is 200mm. If it is installed in the center, multiple false echoes will be generated, and interference echoes will result in signal loss. If the distance between the meter and the tank wall cannot be kept, the media on the tank wall will adhere to and cause false echoes. False echoes should be stored when debugging the meter. If the tank is installed in the signal beam, the following installations (1) should be avoided: such as limit switches, temperature sensors, etc. Symmetrical device (2), such as vacuum ring, heating coil, baffle, etc. If there are (1) (2) interference objects in the tank, a waveguide tube shall be used for measurement. Installation selection antenna size: the larger the antenna, the smaller the beam Angle, the weaker the interference echo. Antenna adjustment: adjust the antenna to the measured position. Waveguide tube: a waveguide tube is used to avoid disturbing echoes. Installation in tank (D801, D802) standard installation radar antenna shall not tilt to tank wall. The radar sensor is installed in the waveguide tube to measure through the waveguide tube or the by-pass tube, and the measuring tube ACTS as the waveguide. The following is a measuring tube (construction diagram of the waveguide tube). The inner wall of the measuring tube should be *** smooth. If possible, the inner diameter of the measuring tube should match the diameter of the bell mouth. The measuring tube can be extended by pre-welded flanges or welded joints. Note: when welding, can not produce convex point or flange. Align the flange with the measuring tube and secure, then weld. Welding should not penetrate the wall of the measuring tube, the inner wall of the tube must be kept smooth, be careful to remove the weld and not smooth, otherwise it will cause a strong false echo.

Notes for measuring conditions

  1. The measurement range is calculated from the point at which the beam hits the tank low, but in special cases, if the tank low is concave or tapered, the measurement cannot be made below this point.

  2. If the medium is of low dielectric constant, when it is at a low liquid level, the tank is low. At this point, in order to ensure the measurement accuracy, it is recommended to set the zero point at a position with a low height of C.

  3. It is theoretically possible to measure the position of the antenna, but the final value of the measuring range should be at least 100mm from the antenna, taking into account the effects of corrosion and adhesion.

  4. For overspill protection, a distance can be defined to attach to the blind area.

  5. The measurement range is related to the antenna.

  6. Depending on the concentration, the foam can absorb and reflect microwaves, but under certain conditions it can be measured.


Measure an action that is out of range
When the measuring range is exceeded, the output of the meter is 22mA.
Connection mode

The D800 can be debugged in three ways:

  1. Adjust module PM by display

  2. Through debugging software SOFT

  3. Through HART handheld programmer

When using the software for debugging, add 24VDC to the radar instrument and a 250-ohm resistor to the front of the connection to the HART adapter. If the integral HART resistance (internal resistance 250 ohms) of the power supply meter does not require additional external resistance, the HART adapter can be combined with 4... 20mA lines in parallel.
